2022 Discovery Gala FAQs
What is the Discovery Gala?
The Discovery Gala is one of Northwest Kidney Centers signature fundraising events. You can anticipate a fun and memorable evening that includes exciting entertainment, sumptuous food and wine, a live auction and raffle, and a fun afterparty with live music and dancing. You will learn more about our programs and hear inspiring stories from our patients about the impact you have made through your financial gifts.
What are you raising money for?
Our goal for this year's Discovery Gala is to raise $1 million. Proceeds will support equitable life-saving care and transformative research.
Will the Discovery Gala be an in-person event?
Yes! We are excited to be back in person for this year’s Discovery Gala, which is hosted at Hyatt Regency Seattle. There will also be an option for virtual viewing.
What COVID-19 safety precautions will be taken?
Vaccination status: All guests are asked to meet the vaccination guidelines provided by the CDC.
Masks: Guests are not required to wear a mask at this event, but we encourage mask wearing when not eating and drinking. Volunteers and hotel staff will be masked for the event
Testing: We ask that all guests perform a home COVID test 1-2 days prior to the event. In the event of a positive test result, please contact us at events@nwkidney.org or call 206-720-8585 and we will issue you a full refund. You will still be able to watch the event virtually, and we can assign you a proxy bidder at your request.
Note: Safety protocols are subject to change based on government mandates and venue guidelines at the time of the event.
Hotel address, driving directions and parking?
The Hyatt Regency Seattle is located at 808 Howell St., Seattle, WA 98101. Driving directions can be found here. Both self-parking and valet parking will be available. Rideshare (Uber, Lyft, etc.) is also a great option for the evening.
What should I wear?
Attire is festive black tie. Get creative and have fun by putting your own twist on traditional black tie. Think sequins and glitter -- from dresses and gowns with flair to suits with a pop of color to tuxes, we look forward to seeing you.
If I want to stay at the Hyatt Regency Seattle, is there a discount?
Yes! Guests can use code SEASOC for a discount of 15% the online rate. After selecting BOOK NOW, select "Special Code" from the "Special Rates" and enter the discount code.
What can we expect from this year’s Discovery Gala?
In honor of Northwest Kidney Centers 60th anniversary in 2022, we have some new and exciting elements for this year’s gala.
An exciting moment will be when you can raise your paddle and Make A Difference to support research and equitable access to care. This moment always brings out the tears, and excitement of just how much your generosity impacts the lives of our patients and families.
